Brown paper packages tied up with string

There’s something really pleasing about getting a present in a box, especially a good sturdy one. While this is obviously pricier than your standard wrapping paper, it’s the perfect way to upgrade a gift for special occasions.

I bought these little boxes from one of my highstreet favourites, Paperchase (£1.75/ea). They are made from recycled material! They’re good quality, and patterned versions are available too, in a variety of sizes.

These circular toppers are actually gift tags, from Sainsbury’s (£1/3pk). They are a pretty standard size, and a pretty perfect size for this box! If you struggle to find one you like or that fits, it would be easy to DIY with some gift wrap or other pretty paper. Or go “outside the box” (ba-dum ba) completely, and fashion a paper flower topper. Double-sided tape is all you need to affix your décor, either way.

Don’t forget the inside of your box. I used a few layers of bright tissue paper to add a pop of colour. If you have time, a quick paint job would look excellent too.

There’s nothing like a little “bonus gift” to make something special. I am a huge fan of the unexpected restaurant bill mint, or hotel pillow chocolate! Consider how you want it to look (colourful like sweets? Shiny like chocolate wrappers?), practicality (will it melt? Does it need to be light for postage?) and of course the receiver’s preferences! A jellybean filled jam-jar* did the trick here.

*Jam jars like these can be found on Amazon or most craft stores, although can be expensive if not bought in bulk. Top tip: Café Nero also provide filled versions with their scones!

An easy bow finishes any present well. I’m all about the rustic theme, so used this raffia.
Thread a gift tag through (these are from Tiger), especially if you have multiple gifts. You’ll want to remember who’s is who’s!

I wrote previously about these bracelets I picked for my bridesmaids’ presents. Weddings can be hectic times, so this is a quick, effective way to pack and present your gifts!
